Tam CD review [Ecstatic Peace]

What the fuck was Thurston thinking? Tam, (Who? Exactly!), starts off with a cover of Arcade Fire's “No Cars Go” and just keeps getting shittier. Seventeen (ten wasn't enough?) tracks of monotonous, slightly nasal whine that go nowhere. Think a less talented Liz Phair and you'd be correct. At least Phair was in her early 20's when she started handing out those homemade tapes and had youth to blame for her impaired judgment, but TAM appears to be well seasoned and should know better. Call me crazy, but I just don't want to hear a woman in her 40's sing about incest. It's creepy and just plain lame. [Ecstatic Peace]

and by the way, "Incest At Best " was composed by Dave Wenger ( r.i.p ) not me, and he was one of this country s most talented songwriters and i was proud to cover his material.
