How many times have you heard this one before? A couple of record store co-workers discover that they're on the same page musically, become fast friends, form a band and never look back. Well, it has happened again. The Fresh & Onlys are part of the current San Francisco psych-garage revival that includes bands like Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall and Sic Alps. The band delivers Nuggets-era rock that rolls raw, loose and brings plenty of party. Even though there's nothing overtly refreshing or original on their debut, there's absolutely nothing dislikeable about them. They're the type of band you can bring home to mom and get instant approval. Hell, she might even get nostalgic for a few good doses of The Chocolate Watchband or Frumious Bandersnatch.
